Having won the tender process organised by the Public Transport Authority of Gästrikland, located on the east coast of Sweden north of Stockholm near the Baltic Sea, Transdev has been re-awarded the concession to operate Gästrikland’s intercity bus network from December 2023 for a period of ten years.

In conjunction with this contract win, CIC is financing the acquisition of 52 new buses powered exclusively by electricity for Transdev’s operations in Gästrikland. These buses will collectively travel around 3.5 million km annually.

The introduction of these buses, which are carbon-free in operation, will reduce CO2 emissions by around 38,360 tonnes over the life of the contract, and will help to improve the quality of life of the people of Gästrikland.
