CIC acted as Original Underwriter in the financing of PremiumFiber, Spain’s largest independent FiberCo. The total senior facilities made available amount to €4.7 billion. The two leading telecom operators, MásOrange (58 %) and Vodafone Spain (17 %), are shareholders of the new company alongside GIC (25 %).
MásOrange and Vodafone Spain have contributed part of their high-speed broadband networks to the new company, thereby providing approximately 12 million homes passed and 5 million customers. Both companies will also continue to maintain and operate the networks they have contributed to the joint venture.
The senior financing was structured to achieve an Investment Grade rating, a first for an independent FiberCo in Spain.
