CIC acted as co-arranger and hedging bank in the refinancing of the debt held by SFTRF.
SFTRF is responsible for operating the Fréjus road tunnel between France and Italy, as well as the Maurienne motorway, which connects the tunnel to the French highway network. These two major transportation routes are heavily used, particularly for transalpine trade. In 2024, the Fréjus tunnel recorded 1.27 million light vehicle crossings and 1.14 million heavy goods vehicle crossings.
The Fréjus tunnel and the Maurienne motorway play a key role in Franco-Italian trade and the economic vitality of the Maurienne valley. This initiative fully aligns with the Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale group’s strategy of financing infrastructure projects that contribute to regional development.
